The purpose of Medi-Share is to bring Christians together to share God’s blessings and to share each other’s burdens. Each month, the Members of Medi-Share contribute toward the Eligible Medical Bills of other Medi-Share Members.
In 1993 Medi-Share was organized, offering a formalized approach to health care sharing. Medi-Share households have saved and shared more than one billion dollars in medical expenses since then. Medi-Share is administered by Christian Care Ministry, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Medi-Share is not insurance, however Medi-Share is still compliant with the Affordable Care Act. This means you will not be fined by the government for not having insurance if you join with the Medi-Share family. Members must not certify that Medi-Share is insurance to avoid purchasing insurance required by law, rule or regulation (e.g. worker’s compensation insurance or sports activity insurance).
There’s a price for every budget. Medi-Share is flexible and agile when it comes to meeting your family’s price range.
We encourage you to seek the advice of a health insurance professional to further explain the difference between state-regulated health insurance and mutual sharing ministries such as Medi-Share.
